TANK DIGITAL NETWORK

Tank FM broadcasts and streams 24hrs/7days with our overnight programming being fully automated under computer control. We call this service our Tank Digital Network, or TDN for short.

The TDN itself does other functions for the station, including scheduling both our National Radio News and BBC news services when needed. It also plays our "Lunch Box" program at midday, plus a selection of Community Radio Network (CRN) programs.

As this service is online permanently, it can also provide backup for announcers who are sick, unavailable or running late to start their own programs, with a music library of around 5,000 songs available for use. It also has the ability to play our sponsorships to air during the day and overnight, upholding our commitment to all our station sponsors - typically getting more airtime than they are actually paying for.

Automation normally commences around 11pm local time each evening, and runs until the scheduled morning announcer takes over at 6am.

  • Coming soon: when the automation service is active, listeners will be able to make instant requests via this website. Songs requested will normally be played within 10 minutes unless a special event occurs (such as a news bulletin).
